How to wear translucent leggings.

Many of us have have bought leggings that weren't supposed to be translucent, but are... so they become a waste of money. Today I have some tips for those of you who are dealing with this problem:

Tip N°1: Use long shirts or t-shirts (pretty obvious uh?).

Tip N°2: Use black leggings under the translucent leggings. Do this only on winter unless you want to sweat until you die.

Tip N°3: Sew a lining under the upper part of your leggings. This is probably the hardest way to fix the problem, but will work for those with sewing skills.

Tip N°4: Wear dark underwear.

Tip N°5: Wear shorts or a skirt over them. This depends on the pattern of the leggings and on your personal style.

Hope this helps you guys! Enjoy your leggings :)

Review: Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse Foundation

I've been using this foundation for almost two years now and it is amazing. It really gives your face a matte effect and it's suitable for almost any skin type as it is not oily nor completely dry. Plus, it is cheap for what it offers and keeps your skin looking smooth for almost five hours. The great thing about this foundation is that you only need a small amount for your whole face and it doesn't have a cakey effect.

I've read and seen some YouTube reviews on this product that say it is difficult to blend, but I think that's because of an application problem. Many people use a brush to put it on their skin and I'd say that's not the best way. Rather than that, using your own clean fingers or a sponge (like the one below) will make the blending job much easier and quicker.

The Dream Matte Mousse Foundation's container is made of glass, but it is really strong so it's easy to transport; the cap, on the other hand, is made of plastic. The only precaution you must have with this product is not to expose it to dirtiness (for example: unclean fingers, sponges or leaving it with the cap off), because it is a mousse and filth will stick easily on it.

Rating: 5/5
Cost: US$11 +/-
Coverage: Full/Medium (depends on the skin type)

You can find all the colors and tones of this product right here, keep in mind that when you buy a foundation you must pay attention to your undertone also: http://www.maybelline.com/Products/Face-Makeup/Foundation/Dream-Matte-Mousse.aspx

Review - Holika Holika: Oil Queen Cotton Powder

As I said in a previous post, I've been trying out korean makeup that I've bought online and the first product I want to talk about is Holika Holika: Oil Queen Cotton Powder. I've read so many reviews that say this powder leaves a cakey effect on the skin and that's not true at all. I love the result on my skin after using it, I think the problem is that some people charge too much powder on the applier* (brush, sponge or anything you might use).

The Oil Queen Cotton Powder will set your makeup and leave a soft looking effect on your skin. It kept shine away from my face for like 5 hours, which is awesome, and has a soft floral scent that I found really nice. The applier that comes with it is really soft  (fluffy) and cute. The powder itself is white indeed, but if you use the correct amount it won't leave any color on your face. You can retouch it if necessary. The only problem I find with this product is that it is a bit difficult to transport because of being loose powder.

How to apply:
As it is loose powder, you must be careful to take out only the amount you're going to use if you don't want to make a mess, a good way is taking the applier out of the container, putting the cap back on and giving it a small pat on the lower side. It's OK if you want to use a brush, but I find the applier that comes with it more useful. You should push the powder over your face instead of spreading it all over.

*TIP: Blow softly the applier before using powder, that will end with the excess of product.

Review: SkinFood - Gold Caviar Collagen Cream

I've recently started ordering korean makeup online and I have to say that the products I've received have pleased me more than I was expecting, but that's another subject . One of the things I've liked the most of this korean makeup order is that they actually send you lots of free samples that give you the opportunity to try products that are not on top of the list when thinking of skin care products or makeup buying. The first sample I've tried is the Skin Food - Gold Caviar Collagen Cream

I'm 21 and I have normal skin type so I don't really need this kind of products, but the name got my attention so I decided to use it. First thing I noticed is that it won't blend in your skin easily, plus it's a bit greasy and I wouldn't recomend to use it before putting on makeup or something like that. It's not like a normal mosturizer and I think I wouldn't buy the regular size cream because I don't like products that leave my skin feeling oily. On the other hand, I think that people of 30+ years old or those who have really dry skin might find this product useful as a once a week moisturizer to use -say- on Sundays or in any leisure time. Another problem I find with this product is that I think it actually contains caviar and collagen, so it's not for everybody, some people won't be confortable using it.

I'd give this 1/5.
